Day 1 โ€“ : Arrival in Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport for this 16 day wildlife, primates and cultural safari, you will be welcomed by your driver-guide and transferred to your hotel.

Depending on your arrival time, relax by Lake Victoria or visit the botanical gardens or go for shoebill tracking in mabamba swamp. These activities are optional and their price is not included.

Day 2 โ€“ : Entebbe โ€“ Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, depart from Entebbe and travel north through the Ugandan countryside to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos can be seen in their natural habitat.

Upon arrival, enjoy a guided rhino tracking experience on foot, offering a unique opportunity to observe these magnificent animals up close while learning about Uganda’s rhino conservation efforts. The sanctuary is also home to a variety of antelope species, birds, and other wildlife.

Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the sanctuary.

Day 3 โ€“ : Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, travel to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the spectacular Top of the fall, where the Nile River squeezes through a narrow gorge before crashing below. Continue with an evening safari to see some animals like lions, elephants, buffalos, leaopards. Later, transfer to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4 โ€“ : Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari

Start the day with an early morning game drive across the northern savannah in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, leopards, and various antelope species. Return to the lodge for lunch before embarking on an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the way, spot hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous bird species along the riverbanks.

Day 5 โ€“ : Murchison Falls โ€“ Kibale Forest

After breakfast, depart from Murchison Falls National Park and journey south through the scenic landscapes of western Uganda. Along the way, enjoy views of traditional villages, rolling hills, tea plantations, and the beautiful countryside that makes Uganda the Pearl of Africa.

Arrive in the afternoon at Kibale National Park, renowned for its rich biodiversity and the highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The rest of the day is at leisure, allowing you to relax and enjoy the tranquil forest surroundings as you prepare for the chimpanzee trekking adventure the following day.

Day 6 โ€“ : Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp

Morning chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest.

After lunch, enjoy a guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.

Possible sightings: Colobus monkeys, Blue monkeys, Numerous bird species, Local community projects

Day 7 โ€“ : Crater Lakes Exploration & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for kyambura village walk and hike to top of twin lakes.

After breakfast, explore the beautiful crater lakes of kasenda, known for its stunning landscapes, rolling hills, and panoramic viewpoints.

After the walk, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park and check in at your lodge.

Continue to Kyambura Village, where you will enjoy a guided community walk and gain insight into the daily lives, culture, and traditions of the local people.

Later, embark on a scenic hike to the top of the famous Twin Lakes, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, crater lakes, and the distant Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 8 โ€“ : Game Drive And Boat Safari In Queen Elizabeth National Park

Begin the day with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s best wildlife viewing areas. Look out for lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and a variety of bird species as the park comes alive with activity.

After lunch, enjoy a relaxing boat safari along the famous Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. The cruise offers excellent opportunities to see large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and numerous water birds at close range.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 โ€“ : Morning Transfer To Ishasha Via Kisenyi Fishing Village And Afternoon Safari

After breakfast, depart for the remote Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, visit the vibrant Kisenyi Fishing Village, where you will gain insight into the daily lives of local fishermen and experience the unique culture of communities living along the shores of Lake Edward.

Continue through the park, enjoying wildlife sightings en route before arriving in Ishasha. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive in search of the area’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as elephants, buffaloes, topis, and other wildlife that inhabit this beautiful wilderness.

Day 10 โ€“ : Transfer To Bwindi Forest National Park โ€“ Batwa Community Walk.

After breakfast, depart from Ishasha and enjoy a scenic drive through the rolling hills and terraced landscapes of southwestern Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Upon arrival, take part in a cultural walk with the Batwa community, the original inhabitants of the Bwindi Forest. Learn about their traditional forest lifestyle, hunting techniques, medicinal plants, music, dance, and rich cultural heritage. This immersive experience provides a unique insight into the lives of one of Uganda’s most fascinating indigenous communities.

After the community visit, proceed to your lodge and relax while preparing for the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience the following day.

Day 11 โ€“ : Gorilla trekking day in Bwindi forest

Today is the highlight of your Uganda safari. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before beginning your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, hike through the dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from a few hours to most of the day, depending on the gorillas’ location.

Once the gorillas are found, you will spend up to one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watch the silverback, mothers, and playful young gorillas interact in one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife encounters.

After the trek, return to the lodge to relax and reflect on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day 12 โ€“ : Transfer to Kisoro town and evening Market Walk

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful highlands of southwestern Uganda to Kisoro Town, a vibrant town nestled at the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes. Along the way, take in breathtaking views of rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and local villages.

After checking in at your lodge and having some time to relax, head out for an evening walk through the bustling Kisoro Market. Experience the local atmosphere as vendors sell fresh produce, crafts, and everyday goods. This is a wonderful opportunity to interact with local people, learn about daily life in the region, and immerse yourself in the authentic culture of southwestern Uganda.

Day 13 โ€“ : Golden Monkey Trekking In Mgahinga And Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for an exciting Golden Monkey trekking experience. Accompanied by experienced park guides, venture into the bamboo forests on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains in search of these rare and playful primates. Watch them leap through the trees and forage in their natural habitat while learning about their behavior and conservation.

After the trek, enjoy lunch before continuing to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes, famous for its scenic islands, terraced hillsides, and tranquil atmosphere.

Upon arrival and after lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive in search of zebras, giraffes, impalas, elands, buffaloes, warthogs, and a variety of bird species. The park’s rolling hills, acacia woodlands, and lakes create a unique and picturesque safari experience.

As the sun sets over the savannah, return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening surrounded by nature.

Day 15 โ€“ : Morning Nature Walk in Lake Mburo & Afternoon Relaxation

Day 16 โ€“: Transfer to Entebbe Airport for your flight back home

After a relaxed breakfast, enjoy some free time depending on your flight schedule. Your driver-guide will then transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight home. Stop at the Uganda Equator for photos, souvenir shopping, and lunch before continuing to Entebbe.
